Quick Summary
- Post-rental charges can appear days or weeks after drop-off. Common reasons include tolls, fuel, tickets, damage, cleaning, optional extras, late return, or other usage-based charges.
- If a charge looks unclear, check the final rental receipt first. If you see a line item you do not understand, send Hola a screenshot of the charge or receipt line together with your rental documents.
- To dispute a post-rental charge, contact by email at soporte@holacarrentals.com.
- Useful documents for a dispute: Hola confirmation, rental agreement, final receipt, and a screenshot of the card charge.
- Voluntary extras accepted at pickup are usually not refundable.
Why post-rental charges happen
The rental company issues the final invoice for usage-based items incurred at pickup or during the rental. Hola Car Rentals handles the amount prepaid online and approved post-rental reviews.
Common categories include tolls and toll-program fees, fuel, late return or extension, one-way fees, child seats, GPS, additional driver charges, traffic or parking tickets, cleaning, and damage-related items.
How to read the final receipt
- Match each line to the rental agreement and any services accepted at pickup.
- Compare the final receipt with your Hola confirmation, especially items marked Included versus To pay at destination.
- If you see an unclear code or line item, send Hola the full receipt and a close screenshot of the line item so the review team can check it.
How to dispute a charge
- Wait until the rental is completed and the final receipt is available.
- Gather your Hola confirmation, rental agreement, final receipt, and a screenshot of the charge.
- Contact Hola through email:
- Briefly explain which charge you want to dispute and why.
Evidence that helps the review
- Photos taken at return (fuel gauge, odometer, vehicle condition, timestamp)
- Fuel receipt near the return location
- Final rental receipt
- Original rental agreement signed at pickup
- Screenshot of the charge on your bank or card statement
Important notes
- Some legitimate charges appear only after the rental ends.
- Tolls and tickets may take longer to post than fuel or extras.
- If a voluntary add-on was accepted at pickup, it may not qualify for refund review under No Extra Charges©.
