Quick Summary
What it is: A Hola Car Rentals guarantee that protects you from unexpected counter charges that should not be billed at pick-up.
What we do: If you’re charged for something not listed on your Hola confirmation and not an optional add-on you accepted, we’ll work with the partner to remove it or reimburse you after we verify the charge.
What it’s not: This is not insurance (not CDW/LDW, not SLI/ALI). It’s a pricing guarantee against hidden or incorrect charges.
What’s Covered (examples)
Charges that were not disclosed on your Hola confirmation and not optional add-ons you chose, such as:
Mandatory taxes/standard rental fees that your Hola booking marked as Included but were still charged at the counter (e.g., airport concession/ACRF, CFC, VLF/VLRF, tourism/state surcharges).
Duplicate billing for items that your Hola rate already included (e.g., additional driver included but charged anyway).
Hola Car Rentals Errors that create extra charges at pick-up.
If your confirmation shows “Taxes & Fees: Included,” you should not be billed locally for those items. If you are, this coverage applies.
What’s Not Covered (you’re responsible for these)
Optional add-ons and usage-based or post-rental charges, including:
Third-Party Liability add-on selected at checkout or accepted at pickup, baby/child seats selected during checkout or accepted at pickup, prepaid fuel, GPS/tablets, premium roadside (RSN/Premium), personal effects (PEC), one-way/drop fees you accept, or any upgrade you agree to.
Fuel if you return below the recorded level (Full-to-Full policy applies), late return/extension time charges, tolls, parking/traffic fines, cleaning/smoke/pet fees.
Security deposits/holds and normal bank processing/FX differences.
Any charge that was clearly disclosed on your Hola confirmation as “Total to pay at destination”
How to Use the Coverage (Step-by-Step)
At the counter:
Decline any optional add-ons you do not want.
Ask for an itemized pre-contract and ensure it matches your Hola confirmation (especially “Taxes & Fees: Included” and “Additional driver: Included,” if applicable).
If you’re told a charge is “mandatory”:
Refuse the charges as much as you can if no progress is made, Politely ask the agent to note the item on the contract and proceed; keep all paperwork. (We’ll fix it later if it wasn’t disclosed.)
After pick-up or after return (promptly):
Contact Hola Support using your confirmation’s Manage Booking/Contact link.
IMPORTANT: You must wait until the rental is finished so we can take care of the charges.
Attach: Hola confirmation, itemized rental agreement, final receipt, and (if already charged) a card statement line showing the charge.
We’ll act:
We’ll review and work with the partner to remove/credit the charge or reimburse you to your original payment method after verification.
Examples (for clarity)
Covered: Your Hola confirmation shows “Taxes & Fees: Included,” but the counter still adds CFC/ACRF → We intervene and arrange a refund after verification.
Covered: Your Hola rate includes one additional driver, yet the desk charges a daily fee → We get it reversed/refunded after verification.
Not covered: You choose prepaid fuel and a GPS at the counter → These are optional add-ons you accepted; you pay locally.
Not covered: You return not full on a Full-to-Full plan → Refueling/service fees apply.
Not covered: Your confirmation said “Estimated taxes & fees due at pick-up” → Those local taxes/fees are correctly due.
Conditions & Limits (Read Carefully)
Eligibility: Applies only to Hola itineraries that include No Extra Charges© Coverage.
Scope: Covers undisclosed or incorrectly billed counter charges not tied to optional add-ons you accepted or usage/damage-related items.
Verification required: We may request documentation to validate the charge.
Changes to your booking: Modifications (dates, vehicle class, location) or added extras may create legitimate local charges outside this guarantee.
Jurisdiction: Names and structures of fees vary by country/state/airport; your counter receipt is the final calculation—our guarantee addresses incorrect or undisclosed items.
Short FAQ
Is this insurance?
No. It’s a pricing guarantee, not CDW/LDW or liability insurance.
If the desk forces a “mandatory” package I never saw online, am I protected?
Yes—if it wasn’t on your Hola confirmation and you didn’t opt in, we’ll intervene and aim to remove or reimburse the charge after verification.
Does this eliminate the security deposit?
No. Deposits/holds are separate and refundable per partner policy.
What if my confirmation said “Total to pay at destination”?
Then those listed items are legitimately due locally; this coverage doesn’t apply.
